1.    What tests included in fitness evaluation? The fitness tests include body composition testing to find out body fat percentage by specialized methods.  There are tests to assess aerobic and anaerobic activity and tests to measure flexibility, coordination and cardiovascular fitness.

2.    How can you define fitness level? A fitness level means the capacity of our body to withstand a workload and to recover in a timely manner. There are people who can run miles and there are people who gasp for breath in five minutes. The difference in these people is in their ‘fitness levels’.

3.    Is push up a fitness level test? Yes, push up is the world’s most common exercise and a fitness level test practiced for a long time.

4.    What is Vo2 Max Test? Vo2 Max Test calculates the amount of oxygen that our body consumes at the peak of our exercising. This is a world renowned exercise practiced by trainers, sportspeople and instructors. The best place to do this fitness test is on a measured track of treadmill. The mean value of Vo2max for male athletes is around 3.5 liters per minute and for female athletes it is about 2.7 liters per minute.

5.    What does body composition mean? Body composition means different components like muscles, bones, and fat that makes a person’s body weight. Some of the common methods to measure body composition and body weight is Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist to Hip Ratio,  Hydrostatic Weighing,  Skinfold measurement,  Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Total Body Protein(TBP) etc.

There are no major warnings.

However, it is advisable that your physician clears you to participate in this program, before any testing can be done.
