  • Javad Nejatbakhsh

    Speaks: English, Farsi
    Javad’s been working at Central Scarborough Physiotherapy since 2004. He has achieved his McKenzie Certification (A & B) and a certification with Acupuncture Foundation of Canada (AFCI). He offers his patients the latest assessment and treatment techniques including sport taping, mobilization and manipulation mentored in Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute (APTEI). He has worked predominantly in orthopedics with additional experience in geriatrics, outpatient, and long term care as well as sport injuries. Javad enjoys a balanced life outside of work, including hiking, biking and traveling to explore the new places. He is excited to be a part of pt Health team and looks forward to working with you to help on your road to recovery.

    Maria Theresa Sales graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in University of Perpetual Help in the Philippines. Since then, she has worked as a Physical Therapist in a Chiropractic Clinic for 3 years and also worked as a private PT For 5 years before leaving the Philippines in 2008. In Canada, she worked as a physiotherapy assistant since 2010 and has worked for PT health for 4 years. She became a Registered Physiotherapist here in Canada in 2017. She has attended various seminars to update her knowledge through The International Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation Philippine Working Group. She has provided physiotherapy for OHIP, WSIB, MVA and private patients, and treated various musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions. Her treatments include manual therapy, electrotherapy and providing individualized exercise prescriptions.

    Eugene Serebrennik is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) at Central Scarborough Physiotherapy. He graduated in 1999 from the College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. He has been working at this clinic since 2010, focusing on chronic injuries and pain management. He also specializes in rehab and muscular dysfunction of the arm and shoulder. Previous to joining pt Health, he had owned his own clinic for 5 years. His goal is to help his clients return to their daily lives and activities.

  • Karandeep Riar
    Chiropractor - B.Sc(Hons), DC

    Speaks: English, Hindi, Punjab
    Dr. Karandeep S. Riar, B.Sc (Hons), D.C. Dr. Karandeep S. Riar earned a Honours Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University and then went on to complete a Doctorate in Chiropractic. While completing his one-year internship, Dr. Riar was recognized with the health centre award for clinical excellence. Dr. Riar has obtained in-depth training in chiropractic adjusting, myofascial release therapy, instrument assisted soft tissue therapy, functional movement analysis, the use of various modalities, orthotics therapy and rehabilitation therapy. Dr. Riar also holds a certificate in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University. Dr. Riar is a firm advocate of patient-centered evidence-based healthcare. He spends a lot of time keeping up-to-date on current literature and attending various musculoskeletal seminars to expand his knowledge and apply it to patient care. His approach consists of getting patients out of pain as well as identifying and correcting aberrant movement and motor patterns that led to the patient’s problem in the first place. In his spare time, Dr. Riar enjoys keeping fit through resistance training, running and playing basketball. Dr. Riar is certified in: -Medical Acupuncture -Graston Technique M1 -Myofascial Release Therapy -Custom Orthotic Therapy

    Tess is a Physiotherapy Support Personnel/Assistant at Central Scarborough Physiotherapy for more than 6 years. She works closely with the Physiotherapists to assist patients in recovering from their injuries by carrying out the treatment plans. She is also a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in the Philippines with 4 years of experience as an internationally trained Physiotherapist.

  • Kanika Alagh

    Speaks: English, Urdu, Hindi, Punjab
    Kanika is a determined, caring and passionate physiotherapist who thinks differently about physiotherapy. Her focus is to utilize new treatment techniques, tools and technology to provide effective care and outcomes for her clients. Kanika graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor in Physiotherapy and obtained her Canadian Physiotherapy license in 2014. She continues to enhance her skills through continued education and evidence based practice. Kanika also practices acupuncture and dry-needling and is specialized in TMJ. She uses a combination of hands on mobilization, modalities, active release therapy, Graston technique, exercise prescription and education in her practice. When Kanika is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking and camping.

    Patient Coordinator

    Prescilla is a Patient Coordinator at Central Scarborough Physiotherapy. She studied medical office assistant training through online and got my certificate in 2006. She has been an integral part of the Central Scarborough Physiotherapy team by coordinating booking patients’ treatment plans accurately, payments, and many more aspects of office administration and management. Prescilla ensures that the patients and team needs are managed efficiently. Prescilla also took a 2 year course, Food and Nutrition Management from George Brown College. I am now an active member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management. I've been working as administrative assistant for over 5 years, not to mention my work experiences from Philippines and Taiwan related to admin job.

    Physiotherapy Support Personnel

    Ellaine graduated from De La Salle University in the Philippines as Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1991. She plays a vital role in the clinic by managing patient’s schedules, treatment plan and follow up care. She will respond to patient’s concern and ensure patient’s satisfaction. Ellaine worked as a Physiotherapist in the U.S. for 2 years. She also has great experience in managing her own Physiotherapy clinic for 15 years in the Philippines. With her strong background in Office Administration, Sales and Customer Service for several years here in Canada, Ellaine will ensure the highest quality of healthcare will be given to the patients.

  • Lester Lampa
    Massage Therapist - RMT

    Speaks: English
    Lester is a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. He graduated from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy, with previous studies in Fitness and Health Promotion at Seneca College. He has experience treating a variety of individuals presenting with different conditions, whether it be in specialize clinical settings, hospitals, rehab centres, or sporting events. As a therapist, he is focused on goal-setting and seeks to find patterns that connect to a patient’s issue through proper assessment and understanding all objective and subjective information. As a skilled practitioner, Lester aims to use both manual therapy and therapeutic exercise for his treatment plans. He also finds it important to educate his patients, whether it be helping them understand their pain or discomfort, or giving suggestions on ways to help progress them into reaching their goals and achieve optimal function. Some of his skills include General Swedish Techniques, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, and General Relaxation/Wellness Massage. During his free time, Lester likes to dance, watch basketball, and occasionally play around with photography.
