Personalized Treatment Plan: The First Step to Your Recovery

Our first goal is to reduce the symptoms you’re feeling right now as quickly as possible. We assess and develop a personalized treatment program through means including, but not limited to, advanced exercise prescriptions, manual therapy, and various modalities.

Evaluating Your Condition

To come up with your treatment program, a therapist will gather key information about your condition. Your answers along with the results of an expert examination will guide us in creating a specific type of treatment program to effectively address your specific condition and eventually, to facilitate your healing.

Adjustments to the program are implemented based on your actual progress, or response, to the treatment until your goals are achieved. We pay close attention to your progress. You will receive verbal instruction and hands-on guidance to improve your condition.

Prevention Strategies:

Understanding Your Condition and Implementing Prevention Strategies

A clear understanding of your condition will not only alleviate your concerns, but can also help you understand your condition, to look for and change factors that may be causing your symptoms, and to help you learn how to avoid future problems.

Our therapists may provide tips, specific stretches, and exercises to do at work, or during activities. We recommend changes to help you do your job with less strain and less chance of injury.

As you recover, you will gradually advance in a series of strengthening exercises for the muscles surrounding the affected area which helps patients begin moving easier and lessens the chances of future pain and problems.

How Long It Takes:

Quick Treatments to Let You Work on Your Other Responsibilities

Our goal is to relieve pain and correct your injury as quickly as possible, without compromising the quality of treatments you will be receiving. We adjust our therapy programs to meet your goals.

We get you in for treatment quickly, usually within a few days, and work hard to get you back to enjoying life as quickly as possible. In fact, in some cases just a few 30-minute therapy sessions is all it takes.

Our trusted clinic team members

  • Terri Robicheau - Physiotherapist

    MScPT, BScHK

Terri graduated in 2008 from St. Francis Xavier University with a degree in Human Kinetics. She then worked in a private practice physiotherapy clinic as a kinesiologist, where she confirmed her passion for empowering people to live their optimal lives. In 2009 she began pursing her career as a physiotherapist, graduating from Dalhousie University in 2011 with a Master’s degree in physiotherapy. Early in her career, Terri explored many facets of the physiotherapy profession, with a concentrated focus on treating patients with workplace injuries, and as a member of an inter-professional functional rehabilitation team. She also focused on clinical team management, managing two clinics in the Sackville and Bedford area.

Terri took on the challenging but infinitely rewarding role of Mom with the birth of her two sons in 2014 and 2016. It was through this journey that Terri realized the true void there is in postpartum care for women. Terri strives to be an advocate for women’s healthcare needs and is eager to raise awareness for the role that physiotherapy can have in this, one of the most challenging transitions in a woman’s life.

As of May 2018, Terri will have her certification to treat female urinary incontinence, and intends to extend this education to treat many pelvic health conditions.

  • Nathan King - Physiotherapist

My goal is to change lives by equipping others with the knowledge and abilities to help themselves get better.

I feel my role as a health care professional is to work with each patient: to listen to that person’s concerns, learn about what their daily needs are and then work together with a patient to figure out what the best road to recovery is for that particular individual.

I believe strongly in empowering people. I aim to help every patient get over a current episode of pain, and also arm each person with the knowledge and exercises to keep their body strong, efficient and moving in a way that can prevent problems in the future.

I am always interested in learning more, and I love to teach. I have taken some very interesting courses that have broadened my understanding and thinking. I have received certification in advanced manual therapy (Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy), the Certificate Level from Sports Physiotherapy Canada and a Medical Professional 3 from the Titleist Performance Institute (golf) and Exercise is Medicine.

In addition to my learning, I have been active in teaching. I was fortunate to have chance to teach at Bishop’s University in exercise science. I co-owned a clinic and took care of the needs of the University’s varsity athletes. I also worked with the Canadian women’s national basketball team and gymnastics Canada. I also used my talents in teaching, fitness and biomechanics to help coach the Bishop’s golf team. I now help out as a lab instructor teaching hands-on skills to the physiotherapy students at Dalhousie University.

I have the bold goal that all of my patients walk out of the clinic feeling inspired and enabled to take control of their bodies and their lives.
