Massage Therapist - RMTSpeaks: EnglishRachel is a graduate of ICT Northumberland College in Halifax, in 2017. She also attained a degree in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo from 2011. Rachel believes in continuing education, in all avenues, as it connects people to each other and forms a greater appreciation of culture and community. Her enthusiasm for education brings forth a deep commitment and knowledge base to her patients, one she plans to expand as time goes on. Rachel incorporates myofascial techniques, Swedish massage, hydrotherapy and remedial exercise into her sessions, to help facilitate efficient and smooth motion into everyday activities, injury prevention and rehabilitation of soft tissue. She believes maintaining good health includes a collaboration of approaches to wellness and welcomes the opportunity to help you find the best fit for your life. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, art history, spending time with her nephews, baking and reading.

Massage Therapist - RmtSpeaks: EnglishI graduated from Makami College in 2012, completing the 3000 hour course. I love working with clients one and one. I also enjoy working with the clients to improve their health together. I offer many modalities including; swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, myofascial release therapy, TMJ therapy, prenatal massage and lymphatic drainage massage. I have adapted my own techniques over the last 8 years of my career.
Physiotherapist - MScPTSpeaks: EnglishCandace follows a patient centered approach to therapy and tailors a rehabilitation program for each individual. She delivers treatment using a multifactorial approach incorporating manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, and education to help patients reach their goals. Candace is an orthopedic manual therapist and pelvic health therapist. She enjoys working with a broad spectrum of patients including those with sports injuries, post-surgical clients, and clients of all ages. Candace has a particular interest in women’s health and can treat issues related to pregnancy and menopause; she can help with post-partum recovery, pelvic pain, incontinence and more! Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community. She has stepped up to volunteer at the ITU world triathlon, St. Albert Road Race, and has helped as an interviewer for the University of Alberta Physical Therapy MMI interviews. Candace stays active outside of work by running, biking, snowboarding, and going to yoga classes. She has played basketball and rugby recreationally and competitively. She has been highly engaged in both competitive gymnastics and BMX. She was on team Canada for BMX in 2007 and represented the country at the World BMX championship.
Registered Massage Therapist - student RMTSpeaks: EnglishKimberly is originally from Badger, Newfoundland. She completed her 2200 hours at Makami College in Edmonton, Alberta in November, 2017.Her passion lies in helping others achieve their health and wellness goals. She specializes in deep tissue and relaxation massage. Kimberly plans to continue her Education in the health/wellness field by obtaining her certifications in acupuncture and needling. In her spare time Kimberly can be found hiking, reading, or in the kitchen making soaps and natural body products.
Physiotherapist - MSc.PT, BSc.Speaks: EnglishFarhana attended the University of Alberta, where she received her BSc. Biological Sciences with Distinction in 2014 and went on to complete the MSc. Physical Therapy program in 2017. Farhana has a keen interest in treating orthopaedic and motor vehicle accident injuries but enjoys the challenge of treating a variety of different conditions. She incorporates manual therapy, exercise prescription, cupping therapy and patient education into her physiotherapy treatment sessions. Farhana is K-Taping Pro certified and hopes to pursue further certification in manual therapy, graston technique, and acupuncture/intra-muscular stimulation in the future. Farhana enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible (especially when the sun is shining) and spending quality time with friends, family, and her beloved dog Winston. When she’s not at the clinic, you may find Farhana at the gym, trying out different restaurants throughout the city, or volunteering with the Edmonton Humane Society.
Chiropractor - BMSc, D.C.Speaks: English, SpanishDr. Kosta Kakarelis graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honors Specialization in Medical Sciences. Following his undergraduate degree he continued his academic career at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he achieved his degree of Doctor of Chiropractic in 2014. He has continued his education since his graduation from chiropractic college and has obtained certifications in Active Release Technique, Acupuncture, Activator Methods and Custom Orthotic prescription. When he’s not in the clinic Dr. Kosta can be found exploring festivals around the city, traveling and reading. Dr. Kosta has maintained his practice in Toronto and moved to Edmonton in the summer of 2017 to continue his journey of healing and health promotion
PhysiotherapistSpeaks: EnglishAshlin completed her Biology Degree from the Augustana Faculty, University of Alberta in 2010 (with distinction). She went on to complete her Masters in Science of Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2012. Post graduate courses have included K taping Pro, McKenzie Part A (Lumbar spine), Certificate of Vestibular Rehabiliation (Emory University), Shift Concussion Management Provider Level 1, Medical Acupuncture, dry needling/cupping, Orthopedic Manual Therapy Level 3 Lower/ Upper Quadrants, Essentials of Custom Orthotic Therapy. Ashlin enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions. She has a special interest in vestibular/neurological rehabilitation. Past experiences include post-motor vehicle collision, workplace injury rehabilitation, sports injuries, and older adults. This farm girls enjoys anything that keeps her outdoors- horseback riding, camping, hiking with her husband and dog. She also enjoys keeping up recreational fitness (running/ weight lifting) and spending time with family.
Massage TherapistSpeaks: English, SpanishAngel is a Registered Massage Therapist and has been practicing for over 3 years. He specializes in deep tissue massage, relaxation massage, lymphatic massage, capsular work, and therapeutic. Being originally from Venezuela, South America Angel is fluent in Spanish as well. He is very easy going, easy to talk to, and enjoys helping others. During his spare time he enjoys, camping, spending time with family, reading comic books, and has been training in martial arts for 6 years.
PhysiotherapistSpeaks: EnglishMarianne was born and raised in Victoria, BC where she completed Bachelor of Science Degrees in Biology (2005) and Kinesiology (2007), both at the University of Victoria. From there she went on to complete her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta (2010). Since then, Marianne has also completed courses in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy, myofascial release, and her Certificate of Medical Acupuncture. Marianne has a special interest in treating pelvic floor conditions and has completed courses in treating urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, pelvic weakness, and in techniques such as the Hypopressive method, Pfilates, and K-taping. Marianne treats conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, coccydynia, pelvic floor weakness, pelvic organ prolapse, and pre and post-partum issues. When she’s not in clinic Marianne can be found at the dog park or out checking out Edmonton’s food and festival scene with her family.

Donna is also a Nurse (Graduated Valedictorian) with extensive experience as a Surgical Assistant in the Operating Room. Donna has a keen interest in the human body and practices with the intention of rehabilitating and maintaining bodies for those who are motivated to enjoy life. Donna is trained in: T.E.N.S, and specializes in Therapeutic Massage. Outside of work, she enjoys all aspects of life: backpacked around the world, scuba dived, climbed the highest peaks, safaried, skydived, rode a motorcycle, white water rafted, lived and studied for a month in an Ashram in India, and offer Humanitarian Support in Haiti; however, she also believes and enjoys the the simple pleasures in life. Physiotherapy Support PersonnelSpeaks: EnglishChris graduated from the University of Alberta in 2013 with his BSc in Kinesiology. He has been involved in sport since childhood and has a background working with high level athletes (such as the U of A Pandas and Bears). Chris enjoys working with a wide range conditions but has developed a keen interest working with athletes and neurological rehab. Chris likes to stay busy in his off time with his love of snowboarding, working out, traveling and food.
Patient CoordinatorSpeaks: EnglishNicole Lightfoot is a Patient Coordinator and Administrative Team Trainer from Sherwood Park, Alberta. She graduated from Grant MacEwan University in 1991 with a Certified Managerial Accounting Diploma; her Office Administrative Diploma in 1992 and her Business Management Diploma with primary focus in Human Resources in 2000. She believes in exceptional customer service and making sure each and every patient is treated with respect, care and dignity. In her spare time Nicole enjoys working out; walking her dogs; singing; reading and spending time with her family.
PhysiotherapistSpeaks: EnglishLauren MacKinnon is a physiotherapist from Hardisty, AB. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. In 2016, she received her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. She has been working in Sherwood Park, AB since December 2015. Lauren focuses on musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions with a treatment approach that includes patient education, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise. She has obtained her acupuncture certification through Acupuncture Canada. She is continuing to work on her manual therapy levels through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Lauren has most recently completed both the Arthritis Society's Getting a Grip on Arthritis® osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis education program. She believes in patient individuality and encourages each patient to take an active role in participating in his or her own rehabilitation process. ChiropractorSpeaks: EnglishDr. Lacina Barsalou graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2009 with a degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology and in 2013 she graduated with honors from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. In addition to being a diversified chiropractic practitioner, Dr. Lacina is a certified clinical acupuncture and dry needling practitioner. She is also certified to perform full body Active Release Technique (A.R.T.), Activator Methods and Kinesio-Taping. Dr. Lacina likes to focus on integrating myofascial work, adjusting and rehabilitative exercise into her treatment plans to help her patients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. She enjoys seeing all types of patients from infancy to 99 years old, including athletes, weekend warriors and expectant mamas. Along with treating back and neck pain, Dr.Lacina has a particular interest in treating hip pain, TMJ problems and headaches. She also believes strongly in educating her patients so that they can be empowered to make positive choices for their health. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her husband, playing with her puppy Tupper, going running and swimming, doing yoga, and reading.
Physiotherapy Support PersonnelSpeaks: EnglishAidan graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelors of Kinesiology in 2016. Aidan grew up in Evansburg, Alberta and has been living, going to school and is now working in Edmonton since 2011. Aidan has been with the team since May of 2016, initially as a practicum student and now as a full-time certified Kinesiologist. Aidan is a lifelong learner who hopes to further his education in areas such as Exercise Physiology, Human Biomechanics, and Prosthetics. In his spare time, Aidan enjoys staying active through recreational sports such as basketball, volleyball and slo-pitch, fitness Training, and playing with his puppy, Ophie. He also enjoys copious amounts of video gaming and is an avid movie goer who is a self proclaimed critic relying solely on Rotten Tomato scores
