Kirsten RoesinkPhysiotherapy, Spotlight, Virtual Care

Are you looking to continue your rehabilitative treatment while practicing physical distancing and self-isolating?

Good news! pt Health now offers virtual physiotherapy, giving you the opportunity to receive treatment from the comfort of your own home through video conference technology.

Wondering how virtual physiotherapy works? In this Spotlight, we’ll share some first hand information from one of our physiotherapists with you.

Jeff LeBlanc, Physiotherapist at EP Physiotherapy – pt Health has been offering virtual physiotherapy here for the past few weeks.

Today, we’re talking to Jeff about his experience with this service so far.

Q: Tell us about the type of treatments you can provide through virtual physiotherapy.

A: Through virtual physiotherapy, I am able to adequately assess and treat musculoskeletal conditions through quality education, exercise prescription, as well as everyday tips to help get pain under control.

Q: What has the patient experience been like with virtual care?

A: The patient experience so far has been quite positive. At the end of each session patients always seem to be appreciative of the time spent together and more confident on how they can help fix their condition.

Q: Can you share your favourite story of how you helped a patient with virtual care?

A: Over the past few weeks providing virtual care, I have seen major improvements with patients’ pain, mobility and function.

Just seeing the confidence in their own abilities grow and seeing that they know they can achieve their goals throughout this whole process is my favourite part about this new and exciting type of care.
