Are you looking to continue your rehabilitative treatment while practicing physical distancing and self-isolating?

Good news! pt Health now offers virtual physiotherapy, giving you the opportunity to receive treatment from the comfort of your own home through video conference technology.

Wondering how virtual physiotherapy works? In this Spotlight, we’ll share some first hand information from one of our physiotherapists with you.

Pramod Bajracharya, Physiotherapist at Porters Lake Physiotherapy – pt Health has been offering virtual physiotherapy here for the past few weeks.

Today, we’re talking to Pramod about his experience with this service so far.

Q: Tell us about the type of treatments you can provide through virtual physiotherapy.

A: Exercise is the key to Physiotherapy treatment. We can be on top of this key component of physio treatment through virtual care sessions by recommending a Home Exercise Program.

Posture, ergonomic advice, do’d and don’ts are another major part of physio treatment, and I can deliver this through virtual care to the maximum benefit of the patients’ health.

I can help my patients improve their functional abilities by teaching a wide range of self-mobilization techniques, stretching, mobility and strengthening exercises.

Q: What has the patient experience been like with virtual care?

A:  I have found patients are open and positive to the sessions. They are happy with the sessions and reports they are helpful.

Q: Can you share your favourite story of how you helped a patient with virtual care?

A: I don’t have one particular story. All of my patients have described the virtual care session as helpful and reassuring.
